Each month we want to feature a dog who has come into the Vancouver Animal Shelter, through no fault of their own, needing a soft place to land and a something to call their forever home.
Denali came into our care after her previous owner sadly passed away. Denali was quite shy with us for the first few days, after she got a bit comfortable, she started to show us her amazing personality! She is approximately 2-3 years old and is a Mastiff X Staffy. She is fairly large but is very gentle and sweet with her people.
Denali has lots of energy, she loves to play and bounce around with people or other dogs! She is selective on the dogs she likes, she gets along the best with male dogs. She loves to go for walks and adventures with our volunteer’s, but she will also never say no to a snuggle or a nap!
Denali will happily chase a ball, we are working on the “bringing it back” part! She loves attention and meeting new people. She settles very well in her kennel, she has an extra comfy bed that she loves to relax on.
She is well matched with other dogs but prefers males. Her behaviour around cats is unknown. Because of her size she is best with older kids, 15 years and up. She might be suitable for apartment living – this needs to be explored. She loves her walks and warms up to new people with time.

For $299+gst, Denali’s new person will get an initial zoom, and two private hourly lessons held in the Kitsilano area.
