For the Marpole region, we provide two levels of obedience group classes, along with a monthly social walking club that connects dogs and their owners.

Marpole Dog Training Classes: Level One

Our Level One Life Skills course is our flagship level one obedience class, blending game-based and obedience-centric exercises into the teachings for your dog, all while employing positive reinforcement.

This six-week course kicks off with a Zoom session. We then transition to four outdoor group lessons, giving us ample space to tackle the big stuff. It’s in these settings that dogs thrive and apply those crucial life skills. Our sixth class is an excursion! We gather in an engaging urban environment, applying our training in real-world scenarios to demonstrate its practicality.

In Life Skills, we delve into management and its role in dog behavior; nutrition and wellness for mental and physical health; benevolent leadership so the human leads the way; reinforcement tactics using markers for clarity and precision; toy play for bond enhancement; engagement activities for distraction management; calming exercises for indoors and outdoors; responsible leash walking techniques; and recall games.

Marpole Dog Training Classes: Level Two

This is our crowning achievement! Our Skills and Drills class is tailored for our students who’ve dedicated countless hours to laying a robust foundation with their dog and now wish to showcase their skills through proofing exercises. These exercises are designed to generalize learned behaviors, transitioning them into the fluency and maintenance training phase.

Our Skills and Drills Power Hour is an exhilarating, dynamic session aimed at deepening the human-dog connection and enhancing both handler knowledge and dog abilities. Expect to return home exhausted!

We focus on toy play, maintaining stationary behaviors, leash techniques, recalls, advanced obedience exercises, and numerous distractions from fellow attendees. We reveal the genuine amusement of training your dog and, as with many of our longstanding clients, you might find yourself never wanting to depart!

Marpole Sunday Morning Dog Walking Club

Zen Dog Canine Training brings a delightful social outing for dogs and their owners through our monthly Sunday Morning Walking Club. These urban walks offer dogs and their humans a risk-free, structured social setting through on-leash parallel strolling. It’s an opportunity to step away from training, gather as a community, and socialize, both human and canine.

Our one-hour group excursions occur monthly, weather allowing, in the Marpole area. Each walk is set in a charming, dog-friendly locale perfect for an enjoyable journey.
