Shannon was such a pleasure to work with. We had a reactive and very stubborn Shiba, and after three sessions we saw noticeable improvement. Shannon was knowledgeable and flexible to our schedule and being able to meet at home was a huge plus. Will gladly work with Zen Dog Training for all future needs.
I had the opportunity to take puppy kindergarten classes with Shannon several years ago with my border collie Savvy. The class was well structured and the content was very informative. We got to learn basic obedience, tricks, even a little obstacle course all while interacting carefully with other puppies. We learned about nutrition and grooming and got some cool goody bags. Would definitely recommend this class!! I actually drove over an hour from Langley to attend this class every week and it was well worth it!!
I have known Shannon for years, she helped with training of Roxy, my first black lab.Did amazing job. When I moved down the street from Simply Natural, found out she was doing puppy classes there.So after I found Marli, female black lab puppy, I did not hesitate to take her puppy classes. Shannon has been helping us with our Aussie’s reactivity and we couldn’t ask for a better trainer! She helped us hone in our handling skills and with lots of time and patience, our dogs reactivity is now super minimal and we feel equipped with the skills to handle it. We also love the Skills and Drills class which is a great opportunity to strengthen our dog’s focus and our relationship with him.Highly recommend Shannon to anyone looking for a skilled and supportive trainer!

Working with Zen Dogs completely changed my dog for the better and greatly improved our relationship. Thanks to Shannon, I build the dog of my dreams! My dog is focused, driven, calm and confident. He now gets along with all sorts of other animals, listens to me immediately and is brave enough to try new things!
We had a great training experience with Shannon! Our focus was to work on mild reactivity, focus and recall, and most of all to build a stronger bond with our rescue dog and explore awesome things we can do together. She taught us what we needed and more, is very thorough and a wonderful teacher! Highly recommend
Wonderful Training Experience with ZenDog
I adopted Benny, a rescue Husky-Border Collie mix, when he was about a year old, and as my first big dog, I knew I needed support. Working with Shannon and Isabelle at ZenDog has been such a gift. They are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind, offering thoughtful guidance not only for dogs but also for people learning how to support them. They’ve helped me learn how to communicate clearly with Benny, set healthy boundaries, and reinforce positive behaviours in ways that really work for both of us. I’ve gained so much confidence as a dog guardian thanks to their guidance. Right now, we’re taking their Rally-O classes, which are so much fun, not just for Benny but for me too. I highly recommend ZenDog to anyone who wants to build a stronger, more connected relationship with their dog.
Shannon is the most knowledgeable dog trainer I know. She combines a common sense approach gained from years of experience with a thoughtful and detailed insight into dog behaviour. Plus, she makes training fun!
Shannon is the best! My dog Ram and I did the life skills 1 class this spring and had a blast! Shannon is fantastic at explaining exercises in an easy to understand way. I really liked getting real time feedback about how to hold the leash, body position for different exercise and how to clearly communicate with Ram. Ram was engaged for the full hour each week and he was super excited every time we pulled up to Carnavon school. His loose leash walking improved a ton and have made walks much more enjoyable. The detailed homework exersice descriptions Shannon sent out each week helped to keep us on track between classes. Totally recommend!
Zen Dog Canine Training is one of the best I experienced with my reactive dog. Shannon is a great trainer, knowledgeable, patient, and very supportive. Her classes are always fun for dogs and their people. I learned a lot from the training sessions as well as from the private classes. . I can always count on the constructive feedback from Shannon, and support in sometimes hard reality owning a reactive dog. I am very happy that I found the Zen Dog Canine Training and will continue to work with Shannon.

We have two spots left in our up-coming Puppy Kindergarten class, starting Thursday May 28th. Join us for lots of puppy shenanigans and learning through this six week course. We offer a progressive curriculum that builds in solid puppy skills. The course comes with a handler's loot bag of training items, a puppy agility course, weekly contests for prizes, and guidance on enrichment, nutrition, grooming. This is our first level in our puppy development series, with two courses to follow for the keeners who really want to delve into creating solid puppy skills. We boast one of the most comprehensive and informative early puppy education classes in the city, following a thorough and progressive curriculum.
