Each month we want to feature a dog who has come into the Vancouver Animal Shelter, through no fault of their own, needing a soft place to land and a something to call their forever home.
Ellie is a sweet, older female dog with a lot of love to give. She is an intelligent and athletic dog who is always curious about her surroundings. Despite her age, Ellie is playful and enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and having a good run around. She is affectionate and forms strong bonds with the people she loves.
This girl was found tied to a tree in a local park, so not much is known about her past. However, it is clear that Ellie was well taken care of and is well-trained. She is a respectful dog who is friendly with humans and neutral to most other dogs.
Ellie is looking for a calm and peaceful home where she can relax and enjoy her golden years. She needs owners who are experienced with active dogs and can handle her prey drive and her occasional reactivity towards other dogs. She would do best in a home without small pets, as she has a strong prey instinct. Ellie would be the perfect companion for an experienced dog owner who is looking for a loyal and loving friend.
